Is Microblading Safe? What to Know Before You Book
Performed with sterile, single-use tools inside a licensed establishment, microblading is a safe, well-established treatment. But it is not right for everyone — or for every moment. Here's exactly how we keep each session safe, and who should wait or check with a doctor first.

How we keep every session safe
In Florida, microblading is regulated as cosmetic tattooing rather than as an ordinary beauty treatment, and it may only be performed inside a licensed tattoo establishment — ours is licensed. Beyond where it happens, what actually protects you is what happens in the room, appointment after appointment:
- Single-use, sterile blades and tools — opened in front of you, never reused

Who should wait — or check with a doctor first
Microblading is not suitable for everyone. As a precaution, we ask you to message us before booking — or speak with your doctor — if any of these apply to you:
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding — as a precaution, we do not perform microblading during this time (standard industry practice)
- You have an active skin condition in the brow area (eczema, psoriasis flare, infection, or a fresh breakout)
- You take blood thinners, or recently had Botox or fillers near the brows — timing matters
- You have diabetes, an autoimmune condition, or are prone to keloids — please check with your doctor first
Can I get microblading while pregnant?
No. We do not perform microblading during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, and that is the standard precaution across the industry. It is not that harm has been demonstrated — it is that microblading is entirely elective, and an elective procedure is the easy thing to postpone when someone is pregnant.
The same applies to lip blush and every other micropigmentation service, because Florida classes all of them as cosmetic tattooing rather than as beauty treatments.
What you can do now is the planning. A consultation costs nothing, holds no needle and commits you to no date: we can talk through shape, colour and what would suit your face, so that when the time comes the decision is already made. Message us and we will note it down for later rather than push you toward a booking you cannot take.

Is microblading safe?
Yes, when it is performed with single-use sterile tools inside a licensed setting. Florida regulates microblading as cosmetic tattooing and permits it only in a licensed tattoo establishment, which is where we work. Gisselle has over a decade of experience and the suite is sanitised between every appointment. The main documented risks are infection and allergic reaction.
Can I get microblading while pregnant or breastfeeding?
As a precaution we do not perform microblading during pregnancy or breastfeeding, which is standard practice across the industry. It is not that harm has been demonstrated — it is that the treatment is elective and can simply wait. We will happily plan your session for afterwards and hold the consultation now.
Can I get microblading if I have eczema, psoriasis, or sensitive skin?
If you have an active skin condition in the brow area, message us before booking so we can advise on timing — broken or inflamed skin does not hold pigment evenly and raises the infection risk. Between flare-ups it is often fine. For any medical concern, please check with your doctor first.
Are the pigments and tools safe?
Our blades and tools are single-use and sterile, and we use batch-tested vegan pigments by Perma Blend and Tina Davies. Worth knowing honestly: the FDA has not approved any colour additive for injection into skin, which is true of every tattoo pigment on the market. It reports allergic reactions as rare.
Do you offer a patch test?
Yes. If you have allergy concerns or very sensitive skin, ask us about a patch test before your appointment and we will arrange one. It is a small step done well ahead of the session, and it is worth taking given that the FDA notes reactions to tattoo pigments can be difficult to remove.
