Cold sores: the one lip-specific step
If you are prone to cold sores (oral herpes), a lip procedure can trigger an outbreak. This is common and manageable: your doctor will usually prescribe an antiviral to start a few days before your appointment and continue after. Message us before booking so we can plan the timing around it — healing over a cold sore can affect your color, so this protects your result too.
Who should wait — or check with a doctor first
As a precaution, message us before booking — or speak with your doctor — if any of these apply:
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding — as a precaution, we do not perform lip blush during this time
- You have an active cold sore or any infection or irritation on the lips
- You take blood thinners, or recently had lip filler — timing matters
- You have diabetes, an autoimmune condition, or are prone to keloids — please check with your doctor first

I get cold sores — can I still get lip blush?

Can I get lip blush while pregnant or breastfeeding?
As a precaution, we do not perform lip blush during pregnancy or breastfeeding. We will happily plan your session for afterward.
Are the pigments and tools safe?
Yes. All needles and tools are single-use and sterile, and we use premium, vegan, cruelty-free, batch-tested pigments by Perma Blend and Tina Davies I ❤️ INK.
Can I get lip blush if I have lip filler?
Usually yes, but the two are done separately and spaced apart. Message us so we can plan your lip blush timing around your filler.
